What to Expect:
Located in the hills just outside downtown Sussex on the Fundy Trail, Poley Mountain has long been a staple ski hill in the Maritimes. Now, with professionally built singletrack trails dedicated to mountain biking, the ski hill has become a lift-access bike park during the summer months.
For
Like any lift access park, the best trails to start with will be the green preceded by a visit to the skills park at the base of the hill.
Huckleberry is a machine built flow trail that is wide enough to allow for play, and just steep enough to require very little pedaling. Warm up on Huckleberry before taking a ride down the berms on Fox Trot.
Bear Necessities combines flow and old school tech for a fun descent that eventually merges with green trail, Huckleberry, and black trail, Ballistic.
For more tech, try Goat Path – aptly named for the rougher descent down the mountain.
The ‘big drop’ on Ninety Nine is almost always a topic of discussion in the parking lot or on the deck of the Slopeside pub. This fast and steep descent is the most challenging trail in the Bike Park.
Ballistic offers steep chutes and a fun cut down the right side of the mountain – paralleling blue trail, Bear Necessities, but cutting through those contours to add some steep tech.
